London 2012 Opening Ceremony

Like the other thousands of people who were lucky enough to get tickets to the Opening Ceremony rehearsal on Monday and Wednesday, I respected David Boyle's wishes to #savethesurprise .

Fulfilling this request was extremely hard and all I wanted to do when someone asked me how the show was, was to tell them everything that happened but luckily all I did say was ''it was SPECTACULAR and truly British!!''. Now that the billions of people from all around the world have seen it, I can finally publish my pictures and let out the excitement I have for London2012.
The Director David Boyle, kept to his promise when he said London's opening ceremony would be the "greatest show on Earth". Costing £27 million to produce, over 7,000 volunteers and over 200 rehearsals the show created some historical moments.
From the dancing NHS nurses to Her Majesty 'jumping' out of a helicopter with 007 actor Daniel Craig and of course my favourite part when Mary Poppins came to save the show.
The atmosphere around London and especially on the park is phenomenal and I hope London can get over 20 gold medals!

Jeffrey Campbell shoes now available on Allsole.com

Fashion's most coveted shoe brand is now available on Allsole.com.

This time last year, if you wants a pair of Jeffrey Campbell's you would have had to pay for the shoes and the customs fee to get it sent to you as majority of their stockist were US based. However, in recent months, more UK stores have began stocking them. On Monday last week, Allsole.com followed suit providing UK fashionistas with some exclusive shoes from the brand like the Studded Holy Cross Boot.
Prices seem to be reasonable as well starting from £110 for a pair of Foxy.

Outfit | Dancing in the Rain

If I say Yahooze, Pakurumo or Azonto I am sure not all of you may know what they mean. But if I say Oliver Twist by D'Banj, then I am sure that would ring a bell. These are all popular songs under the Afrobeats genre that is taking the UK by storm.

On Saturday, my friend Rebecca from Blaque Pearl invited me to a music event.
As part of the Summer series at Somerset House, DJ Abrantee hosted a night of Afrobeats featuring headliners like Olu Maintain and the very explicit lyrical genius Atumpan.
I was so excited about the event that I tweeted stating I was off to shake my bum bum. And shake my bum bum I did to the likes of Vibe Squad a UK based Ghanian Trio with hits like Dance with me and Mr Silva whose song BOOMBOOMTAH makes you move every bone in your body.

As mentioned by all the artists on the night the rise of Afrobeats is like a bomb that has just exploded and is ready to take over the music scene to find out more about the event read Rebecca's post here
It was an amazing event  and I enjoyed meeting the artists and interviewing them along with Rebecca! Then dancing in the rain to some music from the motherland!

Dreaming of a summer holiday...with Aspiga

Am I the only one dreaming of a summer holiday? Well, I hope not.

The weather here in the UK is what can only be described in a word I do not wish to use. This summer has made me understand why people here get naked as soon as there is little sunshine because we have to make the most of it.
Immediately I saw these Aspiga sandals the first thing that came to mind was walking on the beach.
( Oh how I wish I was at the beach right now)
I love a brand that supports a cause and Aspiga is one of them. Set up seven years ago by Lucy Macnamara after a visit to Kenya,  the brand now has eight supplier there and also donates a percentage of their sales to The Brydges Centre which is a children's orphanage near Nairobi.
The brand has been revamped and their High Summer 2012 collection carries many beach holiday essentials like Kaftans, Sarongs and straw hats.

Outfit | Floral Shoes

This summer is all about floral power. Floral Tops, Floral Trousers and even floral shoes.
Stores like ASOS, River Island and Zara have a wide range of floral shoes. Now, I don't have to tell you that when picking out high heels wedges are the most comfortable option.
Here is a round up of some of my favourite printed wedges!
The Topshop water swan print wedges may not necessary be a 'floral print' but I fell I fell in love with it none the less and I also like the studdings

As mentioned above Zara are one of the stores stocking floral print wedges this season and I managed to get my hands on a great pair for only £19.99 during their sale that started last week.
