STYLE OF THE TIMES

Last week, me and a few other bloggers were invited to an event where we were (re) introduced to the Timex brand. I always say this but one thing I loved about this event is getting to know the brand. Did you know Timex has been around for 150 years? (yes, I didn't know either).
I was styled by Jackie Dixon as part of Timex’s Style of the Times event. To see more photographs from the event keep up with all the latest Timex news and styles visit timexuk.tumblr.com.

Diamond Jubilee | Beauty Buys

2012 is a year full of huge celebrations for the UK with the Queen's Diamond Jubilee celebrations and the Olympic being hosted in London.
The Queen came to the throne on 6 February 1952 but her coronation took place on 2 June 1953 which means she will be celebrating 60 years on the throne with an extended weekend in on 2, 3, 4 and 5 June.

The people of Britain along with many brands seems to have caught a patriotic bug. (I think I have caught it too ). There many limited editions products being plastered with the Union Jack, so I have decided to create a compilation of some great brands that will be perfect to celebrate the royal occasion.
1- This Strawberries and Milkshake Bubble Bath/ Shower Creme by I Love... smells absolutely divine and will leaving your skin feeling like a royal's for only £2.05 from Superdrugs
2 - Protect your lips with this limited edition SPF 10 chapstick which contains a mixture of Carnauba Wax, Beeswax and Camphor
3 - What perfect way to fly the flag than with this Nail polish roll by Filthy Gorgeous London. The roll is available for £15 at Debenhams.
4 - Pout with Pride with this Vaseline pouch available at Sainsburys and Superdrugs for only £3.99. The pouch comes with a tin of  Rose Vaseline Lip Therapy.
5 - This cherry flavoured Union Jack Lip Balm from www.madbeauty.com makes protecting your lips very stylish.

1 -  In honour of London 2012 and the Diamond Jubilee Paper Self have created these truly british limited edition eyelashes available for a mere £12.50
2- With quintessentially British fragrances like Fig, Amber and Lemon Grass, this limited edition packer of Jane Packer Eau de Pafum is ideal for the summer.
3 - Nothing say "I am British" better than rosy cheeks and this Royal Rose blusher from BeautyUK is the perfect product to achieve the look for only £3.99
4 - Wave the flag as high as possible with the union jack nail files from MadBeauty.

Next, Diamond Jubilee Fashion Buys as well as some random products with the Union Jack plastered all over it. Nothing say British better than the Union Jack!

Vans Authentic

Vans have been around since 1966 now this little fact surprised me as I only noticed them after how popular they've become.

They were originally meant as skating shoes but Vans haverecently hit the mainstream as the go to shoe for comfort and style. The likes of Kristen Stewart and Natalie Portman have all been sport with the super stylis shoes.

The other day, at work and I notice that 3 of my collegues, including myself were wearing Vans. They are super easy to style either with a nice floral dress on a hot summer's day or denim short and a T- Shirt for the perfect festival outfit. Or Like me with a pair of skinny jeans and a blazer for a casual look.

Trends | Flatform

S/S12 has many key trends and one of them is Flatforms. Like the name suggests flatforms are a hybrid of Platform and Flat shoes.  The likes of Prada, Chanel and Chloe all had them in their shows. Our beloved high street have now gotten a hold of the trend and serving us some great variety
1. Topshop Unique Cut Out Flaform
2. River Island
3 ASOS.com Vera Flatform
4. COS Flatform
5. Topshop
6. Miss Selfridge

Like the Peplum trend I wrote about a couple of weeks ago, this trend is not for the faint hearted. However, I personally love it. Its a great way to add 'height' for my 5'6 ( and a half) stature without the strains brought on my other heels like stilettos. This season, ASOS and Topshop have gone all all out with the trend so if you looking for a pair I suggest you start there.
